Ladies, are you here stll....

the legs hanging out at the local gutterpunk bar - the perfect place!
Hello dear sistas... wondering if yer still around...

None have posted for a few years, but now that we are at 3 different locations... maybe we should start again...

Whatcha thinkin?

The picture is from my project with the ladylegs this fall/winter. it is over now, but lives in my heart, and i am having a hard time letting them go - would so much love to show them to the world again - i think they have important things to say - as this year marks the 100th anniversary in norway for womens voting rights - and a local feminist and novellist - who wrote about womens rights almost 200 yrs ago was born 200 years ago in my city! Camilla Collett / Wergeland. Do read her book "the district gouvernors daughters" it is very sharp!

So hoping to excibit the legs again, maybe in a cafe or arrange photoshoots outside and have a drive-by / walk-by exhibit of some sort....

What are you all doing these days, creatively? Would love to see some posts!
Much love, mamatrox

WOOT!

A little late is better than never...or ...it's a new year!

Some owls that I whipped up for the Bazaar this year.

I didn't make these, Debbie did. But they were so cool I had to share them with you. You just bust out the inside of a regular light bulb (there are tons of tutorials online to show how to do this) and then find a cap that fits on the bulb, punch a hole in it and thread in the wicking. Put it on a base (Debbie caulked some of hers to old candlesticks and hung some of the others in vases. I just dropped a really strong, small magnet in mine and then fill with kerosene and you are done.

A little hat I knitted up for Connie's baby, Tove.

Hair clips I made for Ami, the first one is felt, which I think was too thick. The second one is an old pillowcase and I am much happier with how it turned out.

puppet show!

today owen and i rode the bus and met andy at the library to see a free performance of The Selfish Giant. it was a puppet show (but so much more) by the chicago children's theatre. it was amazing. there was one man singing the story and switching between guitar and mandolin and only one puppeteer. the pictures cannot do it justice. owen wore his sweater from samuel and was so happy.

sweet sisters....

we just got back from a long weekend in the woods at my aunts cabin... it was wonderfilled; -somewhat warm coffee on the porch with my love, huddled under blankets, making bownarrow with charlie and sammy, smelling the sun warmed pineneedles, scanning for moose (the hunt is on) getting our boots stuck in the marshes, swimming in icewater (we all did! exept for toby who was asleep in the heather surrounded by our clothes and boots)... making puppets with bella and sammy out of sticks and colored wool, chopping wood, grilling marshmellows and hotdogs... my hair still smells like bonfire... we just bonded as we turned off our phones and had nowhere else to be... i so want a cabin!!! trying to talk mike into buying land and building me one in the trees... i think i might be close... it would be a good place for you all to come and stay.... anna, something is coming in the mail for you soon, i hope to send it before the weekend, the instructions are all in danish, but you are a smart doulah, so you might be able to figure it out, if not, i will be happy to translate... caromio, do bring a p12 skatetroup to us next summer, it would be fun... any news on wedding dates? im saving all my money! much love, k
